If they can't take a Credit Card, don't do business with them. You'd have no recourse if they go poof . . .

so uh... not to hijack the thread, but what's a tradeline? There's nothing in the FAQ or anywhere else on this site about them. Rather new here, and curious. Thanks!

An account tradeline in the context we're talking about is adding the aforesaid to your reports. In general, a tradeline is anything reported by a furnisher of information. It could be a revolving account; i.e., credit card, installment, collection, or a dreaded debt purchaser account tradeline. In any event, what we're discussing is having tradelines added to ones reports to boost their scores.

We offer them but, just authorized user lines. It's all we've ever offered. They work just as well as ever (although it is not a perfect science) and in reality, "primary" lines never have and don't now.

You have the ability to do this on your own if you have a friend or relative that will add you as an authorized user to one of their credit cards. Make sure the account is at least two years old and at a bare minimum, is at 50% utilization or less "unless" it is a very old account. If this isn't an option, we at Apex Credit Services still offer this service for a fee. There are a few others but, most went bankrupt soon after the housing swoon.
