Hi! I was wondering if it is easier to qualify for a lease? Or is it about the same? We have a van payment for a Kia Sedona that is about $314 a month. We DO NOT like the Kia(many problems and it is a 2002). We have a car loan for it with our credit union. We would like to get a Honda Odyssey. It would be nice if we could keep the monthly payments below $400 and our credit union said that it is possible with a lease. They said we would not need to pay any money down and the cost of tags and stuff would be included with the lease amt. So I'm wondering what exactly do they look for when qualifying for lease? Would the fact that we currently pay about the same amt help out? We have had two car loans with this lender and we have never been late. Thanks for any advice.

With those scores, I can't imagine you having a problem qualifying for much of anything.

If you're interested in a lease check out http://www.leasecompare.com. They have a forums section (including one on credit as it pertains to leasing) and are really good about answering questions about the whole leasing process. I have used their service for a lease in the past and was very happy with the lease terms they were able to secure and their service.

Thanks for the replies! We were approved for a lease earlier today.

Oh and thanks for the link. I will still check it out so that I can learn more about the lease process. Thanks again!
