I just called the rate department for lowering my Quantum Card purchases rate. I asked him whether has any lower rate purchases for my Quantum Card or not. He told me not at this time and 9.9% is the best rate for this account. He also asked me what do you want to buy and how much do you need? I told him a couple of thousand dollars for purchasing a computer. He told me that they can deposit money into my checking account. I told him that I would like to buy with the card because I will get consumer protection. So I hang up the phone. Then I logged on the MBNA account online management and they increased my Quntum credit limit from $18,600 to $21,300.

Sometimes you buy merchandise from the merchants, they refused to refund the money. You can call the bank to charge back the merchant( in case of not satsisfied with the merchandise).

Ron: My MBNA Plat Amtrak MC was increased today from 14.7k to 18.3k and my APR decreased to 9.9% (from 12.9%). Great!!.

    Geo,

Congradulations!!! I like MBNA and they increased your credit limit from time to time. They usually give me generous credit limit and good rate for purchases.

I got 8.9% fixed APR for Elite Rewards Visa and they increased from $7500 to $11,000 two months ago.
Last month they increased my Quantum Card from $18,600 to $21,300. They converted my account into World Points Quantum MC.

    George,

Sometimes you put the card in SOCK DRAWER, they may increase your credit limit.

    Luxury4me-

i'm sure you're a wonderful, decent, caring person - HOWEVER - that was a snotty remark.
It doesn't really matter if you think GEORGE"S post was boring or not. It's insulting.
How would you like it if someone replied to your post that way?
That of course was a rhetorical kindergarten like question - but I hope it got the idea across.

I was wandering the exact same thing. I figured Luxury must have meant 7 years with no limit increase is boring.....not George, because anyone who has read George's post would not write describe him as such.

Although I like many of George's posts and find them interesting, his constant harping about not getting a CL increase is boring. You already have a much higher limit than most (if not all) people on this board.

This must indeed be a exercise in rhetoric because I would never be described as an especially decent or caring person. Wonderful, perhaps. JK. If I repeated the same pithy complaint about a longing for a minor CL increase constantly then I too, deserve to occasionally be called for it and called boring because it would be boring.

I enjoy many of George's comments and contributions, but this one obsession against MBNA does seem somewhat tiresome.

Oh my. Why would anyone want such a high CL? Has anyone done the math to see how much the minimum monthly payment on $18,000 would be? I don't even want to think about it :0

I like getting limits as high as possible. It's the easiest way to boost your credit score. After adding two new accounts the other day, my limits crossed the 100K threshhold. This gives me more flexibility to borrow and move debt around to get the best deals. It also means that my score is not going to tank if I borrow 20 or 30K.

For some people, high credit limits are poison. For me they're not. I hate malls and live simply. My two year old car was paid off in 18 months. But I do own a business and it's nice to know that I have credit available if I need to lay out serious cash for something that will bring a return greater than the interest paid for borrowing. I'm only using 3% of available credit and the finance charges for that are about $12 a month.

I also like high CL because they give you freedom. They give you the decision making power whether to buy something or not. I think high CL also give you the feeling of comfort and saftely that you can get at money in any circumstances. Also high CL give an ego boost that card companies are willing to trust you will potentially borrowing a large amount.
