Naturally, a few days ago I called MBNA to see if they could decrease the interest rate on the Worldpoints to 7.9%-they wouldn't budge! I Finally had to submit a new application to get the 7.9% which of course resulted in a hard inquiry. One caveat-the Worldpoints are not transferable when you close out an account. Mazani
