I have just gotton my quantum card from MBNA.there is one problem about this card, and i would like to know has anyone else that has this card on your terms of agreement has this term involving balance transfers a transaction fee of 1% with a minimum of $5.00 with no max on balance transfers?Has MBNA lost their minds?I tought that this card has a cap on balance transfers fees, and if not this card isn' cracked up to be.I have a CL of 10K,and for me to do a balance transfer only lasting for 4 1/2 max plus they think they are going to charge me $200.00 fees they can go to hell! Why would they claim this is their best card when they are trying to pull a fast one on me?Does anyone else has this term with your credit card agreement? Will MBNA place a cap on it if i just tell them to close my quantum account? Please let me know if you do have this term involving their balance transfers, and also if you have gotten MBNA to place a cap on their BT feesThank you for all of your posts on MBNA'S quantum credit card terms on their balance transfer offers.

Fire off a letter to PFB. They do respond to them.

I dont have the Quantum card....I do have the Platinum Plus and BT fee is a max of $40...cant see why the Quantum would have no limit of the BT fee, if this is their best card.......

As a fellow Quantum card holder, I suggest you call them and complain about it. On occassion, I've gotten them to waive the fees. They always say they can only do it one time, but they've done it at least twice for me.

I called tonite to transfer a balance of 10k to my Quantum card and when the rep came back and said the fee is 100 hundred dollars I promptly told him to cancel the request. I said the exact same thing-has MBNA lost their minds!!!!!!!! I guess they need to somehow recoup some of the cost of these free 'perks!' First they refuse to lower the balance transfer below 2.9% and then this.

I would say we need to boycott theesea$$holes! They used to be reasonable about their balance transfer offers but now they are getting very greedy finding any ways to make up for their lost revenues but i am afraid they are going the wrong way about it.At the rate they are going they will go to hell just like providian, and nextcard. They will indeed fell on trheir credit card business. If any of you MBNA reps are reading this what in the hell is MBNA doing to begin with with their quantum credit card? This card is a peice of trash! If they don't place a cap on their crazy balance transfer fees then i will drop them like a bomb!

For a Platinum, Gold, ect.. Fee is 3% of balance.. With a Maximum transaction capped at 30.00.. Quantum is also capped.. If you are interested in doing a Balance Transfer.. just call the toll free Number on the Back of your Card..>>If you use your Card to get a cash advance from the bank or withdraw Cash from an ATM.. then the fee does not have a cap on it.. If you have any questions Just call Customer Service.. There is a special Direct Line for Quantum Customers.. Good Luck

There is no way you got charged 100.00 for a fee for doing a balance transfer.. Balance Transfers are either 3% of the balance transferred or 30.00 Max..

    George Is Correct..
Transaction fee for Bank and ATM cash advances; 3% of each cash advance (minimum $ 5). Transaction fee for credit card cash advance checks and balance transfers: 3% of each cash advance (minimum $ 5, maximum $ 40). Late-payment fee: $ 29. Over-the-credit-limit fee: $ 29.

What I'd like to know (and put it to the Rep who telemarketed me to convert one of my MBNA cards to Quantum) is why I should give up a card with a 11.97% rate to go to a card with a 14.99% rate? I then got a schpiel about this and that benefit, etc. I said I already get that and more with my Amex Platinum, plus I get membership miles, no-fee Optima (with no-fee balance transfers to 9.9%), etc. They really didn't seem to have a good answer to why I might want to convert. The rep said they would submit my feedback and "get back to me". This was 10 months again. I haven't heard anything since.

Rubyjean, why in the world would the Rep lie then? MBNA lost 10,000 worth of business from me? That is why I cancelled. I would have paid 30 but not 100 as I was quoted.
