Quick Question I was wondering if it was normal for a OC that i had a debt with but paid it off back in july to still mark as charged off for november. I paid in full plus penalties and interest.
Unfortunately, yes because it was once charged-off. Dispute the pay status as inaccurate or incomplete if it doesn't state paid.
one more thing, should I dispute a ca tradeline that EX says will remain till 12/08 reason I ask is it also shows on TU but I couldnt find the date for tradeline deletion. I was going to use the NC letter.
12/08 is next month. Check your credit reports in January. If it's still on there in January - on TU you might have a big time issue with TU.
I am going to throw the rest of the stuff I need help with out there. Ill try to go in some detail about my stuff but not make it a story.. First I like to say I paid someone to do all my credit repair for me but obivisouly since im asking these questions I was ripped ($1000). First Im trying to get off a repo that on my credit, its list as this: SAN ANGELO FEDERAL CU Experain Account No.: xxxxxxxxxxxxx Condition: Derogatory Balance: $3744 Type: Auto Loan Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff This is a bank I banked at and had numourous other car loans with. This was charged off in Jan. of 07 because they repo'd the truck. I never recieved a bill for the remaining balance probably cause I moved shortly there after it was repo'd. My question is how should I deal with this since its an OC. Ive disputed the accuracy through the Experain online but has come back verified. The bank also made a statement wanting me to contact them directly on the Experain dispute results which I have not. I would pay it for deletion but can I do this with a OC. Next is a small finance company that deals in small secured loans. I have paid this off but still remains on my CR.. It lists as this: WORLD FINANCE CORP Transunion Experain Equifax Account No.: xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx Condition: Derogatory Closed (Paid) Derogatory Balance: $0 $563 Type: Secured loan Secured loan Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff Collection/Chargeoff Collection/Chargeoff I tried to call and talk to a manager and he told me nothing could be done to remove it all could do is dispute with the CRAs. I tried to dispute with Experain and Equifax online. Experain came back verified and still waiting on the results from Equifax. This was not even listed on Transunion untill I started disputing it so I havent submited a dispute to them yet. The last thing is for an old lacks furniture bill that was charged off. I have paid the the CCA they sent it to, and had it deleted off my report. Lacks itself still reamins on Experain as this: LACKS Experain Account No.: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Condition: Open Balance: Type: Installment sales contract Pay Status: Under the payment history it was charged off in Feb 04. I have called and disputed this with them directly 4 times and they said they would change it but have not. I also disputed with Experain online and came back as updated but would this be correct if it was sent to collection. I have been wanting to buy a house and am being held back because of my credit which I know is my fault. But I have paid all my debts off besides the repo but am willing to pay it but dont know how to handle it. I would apperciate any help.
First, $1000.00 is ridiculous for credit restoration. Our prices are $500.00 max for two rounds of written requests for re-investigations to the credit reporting agenices. These are not the typical garbage "not mine", "never late" disputes. My employees that handle the paperwork in this respect are certified paralegals and consumer law experts. As such, we focus on inaccurate data fields such as date of status, date of major first delinquency, account type, pay status, etc. That isn't to say we remove everything because we don't however, disputing in this fashion typically accrues violations of the FCRA and/or FDCPA. Then we'd refer you to a consumer attorney in your state. We also contact each furnisher of information whether it be pursuant to state law, the FACTA amendments to the FCRA or the FDCPA. Again, this cost $500.00. I wonder what $1,000.00 bucks gets you? In any event, seems like you got scammed but, you would need to conduct your disputes like we do in order to get any movement. Contacting state Attorney Generals and the BBB can sometimes work as well. In addition, look up the businesses on the secretary of state's website wherein they're located and find an officer for the company. You have to talk to the right people.
