I know for a fact that Burdines reports - at least to Experian. How do I know? Well, they reported an account that DIDN'T belong to me but rather belonged to an elderly woman who has a name similar to mine. I believe my whole mess in 1998/1999 with a comingled file BEGAN with Federated as this woman had many accounts which they serviced. So far I've gotten rid of all but one - a Macy's account that also belongs to her. They keep insisting it's mine because "they" say they have my ssn and address associated with the account. Idiots!! That's because "they" did the false associating! Bottom line...if there is another who has a name similar to yours and 'owns' any account that Federated services you could be in for years of fighting your credit reports.
I would steer clear of any company that ownes Fingerhut. There is a lot of talk on this board about Sub-Prime cards.Cards issued by Federated are SUB-SUB-PRIME.
