I applied for a "no hassle" card online, which I did not get. I got the card today and it is a gold card with a 750 limit and 12.9% APR. My question is can I use PFB or some other means to get them to convert this to no hassle, or do I have to wait and build a positive relationship with them?

I would try if I were you, you will probably at least get a line increase. The do seem to care more about the relationship with them, vs. just the credit report.

I would call Eugene Cooke on Monday. If he can help you he will. Charlie

It never hurts to try but everything I've read about Cap 1 indicates that their computers make their decisions. Kind of the Fair Isaacs of the lending world. Their losses are significantly below the industry average.

Definitely PFB them. I got a 500$ increase on a new platinum account just last week.

How new was your account? Had you activated it before or after asking for the increase? And what was your original credit line, if you don't mind me asking?

Lets see. My account was 2 months old, I got the increase after I activated, and my original CL was 1500.

They told me recently that at 3 months they would review for an increase then every 6 months.
