I have 4 Paid collections on my CR- all at least 4 years old I was thinking of calling up each of them and asking them to remove because they're paid and I'm looking for a mortgage and I was thinking of telling them that they're the "last obstacle" Do they have the right to pull up my report and check to see if I'm telling the truth, or do they have to take me at my word?
I'm new to the board.. but I think one option would be for you to try the "nutcase" approach on your paid collections.. search "paid collections" or "nutcase" for info.. gurus please correct me if i'm giving bad info.. Theossie
I had a paid collection on one of my reports (only one I've ever had) and I disputed it as "not mine" with each credit bureau and all 3 removed it because it couldn't be verified.
"not mine" with the 3 cra's is the first and easiest way to go (as was said) No. from what i understand, they have no permissible purpose being that you no longer have an account with them. there is a specific section of the fcra/fdcpa dealing with this if you want to research it. go "not mine" and see what happens. if that doesnt get it done you still have dancerat and/or nutcase. good luck jen! `fweem!
