I'm pretty new here and just starting cleaning up my, my wife's and my sons credit reports. I have made an observation and I was just wondered if it is just coincidence or a difference in the way the 3 CRA's do things. It seems everything I have disputed so far has come back deleted by TUC within 48 hrs, the same trade lines disputed with EXP & EFX have come back verified. My question is do the 3 agencies treat things differently? Is TUC just deleting them while they investigate or is this just a coincidence?
I don't know what the deal is with the different CRA's but I've had more deletes from TransUnion than Equifax and absolutely none from Experian. Don't know why, you would think if one deleted it the rest would as well. Experian seems to be the tough cookie to crack.
I would send another letter asking for name, address and phone number of the person who verify it as accurate, send a copy of the letter from TU showing the item was deleted because it was not verifiable. I would also send a letter to the creditor along with a copy of the letter that states it's verify, and demand verification. There are a lot of sample letters, to send out. I've had the same thing happen, after I send them a copy of the equifax and TU deleted the info, they did it as well, threaten with a suit in your second letter.
Old Marine you are full of sorts of useful information! I haven't been able to find any letters you are talking about, do you know where I can find them?
You'll find some here. ht*tp:/*/consumers.creditne*t.com/D*iscussions*/sampl*e-lett*ers Also google keyword "Credit agency dispute letters" you'll find tons of them. remove the "*" it will not allow me to post a link
Be careful using a letter you find anywhere. The best dispute is simple, written in your own words. Basically, "I dispute this debt in its entirety. Please provide proof that the debt is mine and that the amount is correct." If you want you can add that it is inconvenient to call you at any number at any time and that all correspondence should be in writing. Mail it certified mail, return receipt requested.
