Im about to apply for a Secured Card from my local bank (that I've used for 2 years now with no problem) and had a question. I am doing this to establish credit and I have no "job" yet with a fixed income and use money previously saved up for the time being but have a hobby site which brings in a few thousand a year.

What is the best way to answer the "job" question honestly but gives them enough information where I can get this card?

Since you own the company you can pay yourself what ever you want. If your company does not generate enough revenue to pay your set salary that is a different issue and not your creditors business.

I think a ceo/president of a web design firm should earn about 85k a year.

I know about "embellishing" ;) a little but if something ever arises out of it, there is no way that 85k could conceivable be proved much less 20 or 15k.

Since my site is currently a "hobby" and not registered as a business would that make any difference on the suggestion since I wouldnt have a "salary" for a hobby?

Does it ask your salary, or your INCOME? :)
