we are in the process of repairing our own credit to purchase a home. we started this process in february by obtaining all three credit reports. in march, we sent dispute letters to all three agencies, and in april we recieved the updated list from all three cra's. (let me add - only two cra's sent us updated reports, one didn't) my question is this:

while we are working on all the things that the different cra's didn't delete, is there a way for us to consistantly check our own credit reports without it having a negative effect on our score? we are in a tight race to reach a specific score and we don't want any other things bringing the score down.

and can we do this all online?

    thank you,

    jimrie

You are not penalized from checking your own credit report and score.

You can order the individual reports at www.experian.com,www.equifax.com and www. transunion.com

    OR
You can get monitoring service from Experian Credit Expert(www.creditexpert.com) or Equifax Credit Watch(www.equifax.com) You can get unlimited reports from both of these services. I think both of them charge about $70 a year. Good luck!

    yep

    http://www.creditexpert.com

    https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/webapp/ConsumerProducts/pgConsumerProducts?^start=&

    http://www.transunion.com/Personal/PersonalSolutions.asp

since you have to pay each time for Trans Union (no special deals) you might try http://www.worthknowing.com - it's free every 90 days, but you can delete your account each time and get an updated report anythime for free, just by entering your information over again - no changes necessary. It is not always accurate or thorough for everyone. Personally, I get enough info to know what's going on.

even if you want to do it let's say every 15 days? just to check to see what has been worked on and what hasn't?

I look at mine EVERY DAY via the services suggested above and it does not ding me for looking at it. You'd be well served to subscribe to those services.

CreditExpert for Experian and CreditWatch for Equifax. I use Worthknowing.com to monitor my TU report and I order my TU report/score online from TU's website when I need to know my score.
