i started an investigation into a judgement that is listed on my credit report. the judgement is paid but it reflects unpaid on the report. if they dont verify that it is paid within the 30 day window i can request they remove it completely form the report. how would i go about doing that if they cant verify it in time? what if the info comes back to them after the fact can they put it back on? thanks in advance, jenn
I had two judgments. Here is how I got rid of them: 1. Remove all old addresses (and maiden names if applicable from your file. 2. Dispute. Dispute. Dispute. (as not mine). The reason it works is b/c a judgment only has your name and address as your identifying info (no ssn). Two pieces of identification info must match for them to verify. If the name matches but address does not, it will not be verified and therefore deleted. If the address matches but the name does not, it will not be verified and will be deleted. I have tried both methods (between me and a friend I am helping). In the event that they delete the judgment (or any other tradeline/account) and then reinsert it later, they MUST send you notification of the reinsertion within 5 days of them putting it back on your report. Hope this helps.
