I had received a letter from Midland Credit Management wanting to settle for 50% of my balance with HH. My offer date had expired earlier this month. I want to settle this, but don't have the entire 50%. Do you think they will take 30%? Should I send a letter or call and have them send me papers. What do you think the best approach is? Also, what should I request from them? Completely remove my tradeline or update it? I've done so much reading that my mind is a huge mess. Any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks
Careful -looks you could make the same mistake jaslken Did Here.i have taken almost two years and i have repaired the majority on my credit. i settled 4 of the 5 accounts that were chargeoffs and paid them. i have one more account that is being paid off with a collection agency now. my fico last year was 564 now it is 568. what was the point of paying the things if my score is not going to change? all of these account are over 4 years old with no late payments in the last 3-4 years. please adivse. also, what are my chances of getting a mortgage with $8k down in august. i live in nj. jaslken
