Just a quick question for someone out there who might have the answer...(thanks in advance)...
I rec'd a notice out of the blue from a CA regarding a debt that is beyond SOL...thay had also called and started harrassing...question is: even though I know it's ridiculous, should I send validation letter, or just ignore them...there is nothing they can do anyway, correct? I should know all this by now but would still feel better hearing it from our CN experts :)

    Send them this:

It will get them out of your hair, may prevent an illegally filed lawsuit and the followup letter to the CRA may get it off your credit reports.

so it's a different sort of response then? send this "dispute" instead of the standard validation? and if they were to try to sue they'd be "SOL" anyway, right?

    Hi Sprungli,

Yes. They're SOL on the SOL. (If you're sure)

Are you sure it's also past the 7 year rep. period?

IMHO WC's letter tells em more than is necessary.

I like to keep it simple.

    • Hey buddy, you're past the sol, screw off.

      Don't bug me anymore.

    :)

Thanks, WC - thanks, Butch...no it's not past the 7 years but past 4 (I live in California)...I'm with you, Butch: the less info the better - will just tell them to take a hike :)
