    Hi all,

Just trying to get some feedback and see if anyone has had any success in disputing a phone company that is reporting a past due balance. I live in Fl and to have the phone or electric service started, this can be done over the phone, no papers to sign. They just get your basic information and your ss # and poof, you've got service. My question is , if you ask for proof to validate this balance, what proof can they provide if nothing was ever signed? Anyone who had access to your personal information could have phone or electric service. Any comments? I would like to send out a validation letter but want to get a few opinions first. Thanks a lot.

Well dreamgirl, I would suppose that a validation letter requesting a signed contract would be a good bet...they don't have it, so they might not be willing to jump through hoops to prove the account is yours. Take a chanceâ??what could it hurt?

    :-D
