I am an ex-collector and an active contributor to these boards. I no longer work in Collections but my experience there is legnthy. I have posted some threads that I felt would be helpful. These threads include "Understanding the Collection Process" and a two part "Understanding Collection Agencies" Do you find these posts useful? Informative? Too simple? Too complex? Should I continue posting them or stop? Steve Flyingifr
I don't have any collections (except one erroneous one that pops up on my husband's report from time to time), so this doesn't really apply to me. But I think it's GREAT info, and I appreciate your posting it. If we ever get a CA pop up that doesn't respond properly (take off the incorrect info), I'll become much more interested! I think this should be linked to the Hall of Fame posts, since the info is so useful!
Keep them coming. You're doing a great job, and I only read one of your posts. Do you think you can post the links to all of them?
Steve, I noticed in another thread you are (or were) suing Sears. Any update on that? BTW, was that FED court or small claims? Your contributions are VERY much appreciated. Knowledge is power even if I don't have a use for it right now, I may in the future or I can pass it on to someone else. Thanks a bunch.
Ex-collector for Citibank here too =) I've posted a while ago about collection tactics we are taught to use at Citibank. I just quit there a month or so ago, so if anyone needs help with Citibank options, I might be able to give a suggestion.
The Sears suit is in Small Claims Court ($1000 for unauthorized pull). Thanks for the posititive feedback. My next post (in about a week) will be "How to make a creditor wish they HAD NOT sued you" or "Driving the Other Side's Costs of Litigation Through the Roof".
I've been reading the post here for a few months and I must say everybody's help is appreciated. YES, keep your post coming. There has been allot of useful info in them... Thanks
