I was approved First Union Air Miles credit card in Dec,2000.I do like to keep this card but they gave me 19.40% APR.I have charged about $500 monthly .Should I call their retention Dept. and ask to low my APR now or wait a couple of months ? Thanks in advance.

    YOUR PAYING INTEREST?

When you have an AIRMILES card and pay interest, that is counter-productive.

Just like DISCOVERCARD "cash back"...if you pay interest, you lose the "cash back" benefit!

If you're not carrying a balance, the APR is irrelevant. If you want miles and can't pay the balance, you should transfer it to another card with a reasonable rate so you get the miles and carry the balance somewhere else, hopefully without having to pay a transfer fee.
