I noticed that say to use the estoppel after 30 days without validation. I pulled up the estoppel letter from the sample library and it says as follows: Dear Sir/Madame: As I have not heard back from you in over 60 days regarding my notice of dispute dated <insert date>, and you have not supplied the demanded proof of the alleged debt, under the doctrine of estoppel by silence, Engelhardt v Gravens (Mo) 281 SW 715, 719, I may presume that no proof of the alleged debt, nor therefore any such debt, in fact exists. The letter mentions 60 days so obviously this should be changed to 30, right? Or is there a 2nd validation letter that should go out before estoppel? Thanks for the help.
Thanks LB an Butch! Looks like I need to get better with the Search button. I read this board constantly...there is so much information, but it is sometimes difficult to get to the information your looking for....but 99% of the time someone has asked it before. Thank you. mpbrowni
