I recently helped out a friend who had scores in the mid-600's on her files, and only a few unpaid tax liens (state and federal). I disputed them for her, and two weeks later (today) the reports were run and were between 690 and 767. The question is, since the disputes are still pending, do the CRA's now suppress the derog. items from the scoring model when an investigation is pending???? This is the only explanation in this case, I have never seen it before. But clearly, the scores have risen dramatically while the dispute is in progress, all else remains the same (even the files pulled were from the same system, so scoring deviations from different models CANNOT be credited in this case...)
Yes. They are not *supposed* to factor disputed items into your score while they are being investigated. TU, however, does not follow this guideline (in my experiance) If the items are deleted, the score will remain, if not it will be lowered as the results come in. HTH
