1. Should a CHOD letter be sent to a mortgage company that is reporting a late payment or to the CRA's? Also, is there a model letter on this website to base this letter on? 2. Does it hurt a person's credit score if a person checks his or her credit (for example, by doing it online)? Somebody mentioned that it does not affect one's score if the person checks his own credit, but that it will affect the score if another party checks it. Thank you for any help you can offer.
the letter should be sent to the cra's. check the sample letters for a "dispute letter" checking your own credit report does not lower your credit score, only "hard" inquiries from potential creditors. please read the posts for newbies and doc's primer to help you get started!
