I know that many people have posted about their success on requesting, and having their interest rates lowered on their cards. The question is: do the banks generally run a "hard" credit inquiry (that is NOT an account review or "soft" inquiry) to do so? I'd like to do this for the 4 cards that I have, but I also don't want 4 inquiries to show up on my credit report. I thank anyone with experience or knowledge about this who can render an opinion.
RE: Question on inquiries..... Mo, My experience is they run an internal check. Nothing pulled from the CRA's. However wanting Platinum status after having a secured card may trigger external scrutiny. Peace, BarryN
