Here is my question. I have a medical bill from 1995 that I never made a payment on. They didn't send it to the collection agency until 2000. So... does the seven years start in 1995 or 2000? Thanks to anybody who can answer this.

It will start from the date of last activity...That is because the account was added prior to the part of the FCRA that says that the 7 years start from date of delinquency.

    Sorry...

    But who defines 'activity'?

Exactly. I mean, if they wanted to, they could update it every year and it would never come off, right? That really makes no sense. Thanks for the answer though. :)

Not correct. Even though they update it, it still comes off 7 years from the date of first delinquency, otherwise known as Date of Last Activity.
