I just wanted to clarify something Roni said in a recent thread re combining/# of Cap 1 cards. I have a gold with an OK limit (thank you Mr. Miller) and another gold just received last month with the lovely $300. limit. Roni - you mentioned waiting 6 months before combining? Can one request to combine and upgrade to Plat? Or just combine the two cards and credit limits? I have had no problems with Cap 1; I"m just trying to combine/BT some cards and get it down to just 3 or 4 big ones and 1 retail. Thanks for any advice or step-by-step instructions! Kate
combines are considered credit increases. Basically if you've had an increase recently, don't waste your time. Otherwise, they will increase your primary account by the amount of the closing account. The old balances will remain on the closed account for you to pay off at your leisure. ?? thats how it worked for me.
