Is a tape recording of an authorization from a consumer legal proof of a consumer purchase?

My credit card company won't dispute a charge for me because of the recording the merchant claims to have. I cancelled merchant servies but there was a no refund policy. It wasn't listed on the website. You had to write to the merchant.

Do I have any recourse? Fair Credit Act didn't go into voice recordings or refund policies that you write for.

I just found a good thread on taping. Thanks.

    Any input still valued.

If there was a stated refund policy, either on their website, or verbally by their personel, hold them to it. If they have stated there is no refund, or have not claimed to make refunds, you are probably out of luck. Businesses are not generally required to accept returns or make refunds unless they say they will. Merchandise or services of poor quality, or not as advertised is another issue.
