my cousin is going to add me as an AU on his discover card accnt. However he has informed me that last year he was 30 days late 2 times on the account. I was just wondering if the whole accnt history will appear on my credit report or just the history following him adding me as an AU. Thanks in advance guys
Yes, and don't do it if you don't need it .. I added my brother as my AU, and they reported the entire history on his report also, but with "Authorized User" notation. If you need the card for other than credit reporting purposes, take the card, wait a month to have them hit your report, and take it up with CRAs disputing it as "Not Mine". They delete it without much fuss, as you are truly not responsible for this account. Best of luck, -- lakpr
