I have a quick question concerning a couple of unpaid judgements that are on my CR. This May 1st it will be 7 yrs that they have been reported. And as I understand it negative information cannot be reported any longer than 7 yrs. So my question is will they just fall off on may 1st or will i have to write the CRA'S to inform them of this

    Thanks

if the SOL for your state is 7 years then it should fall off as you say may1st. don't forget that you are dealing with a CRA-they are not too bright. generally they fall off a little less than 7 years. however, once you verify what your state SOL is and it is less than 7 years, dispute right away. as a matter of fact, at this point dispute anyway.

Actually judgments stay on for 7 years after they are PAID.

I disagree with this. It clearly says on all 3 CRA's that public civil judgements are reported for 7 years or state limits REGARDLESS of whether they are paid or not.

Wisconsin judgments stay for 20 years. The CRA's must remove 7 years after recorded date, the underlying accounts should have come off by now,7 years from chargeoff date.

When you say Wisconsin judgments stay for 20 years, you mean, they are collectible for 20 years. They can be reported for 7 years.

What was there in my post stating "CRA'S must remove 7 years after(judgment) recording date" that wasn't clear?

"Wisconsin judgments stay for 20 years". That is what wasn't clear. A person could interpret that to mean it gets reported for 20 years or a judgment is valid for 20 years.

I knew what you were saying, but others may not have. Don't take it so personal.

I doubt you will have to tell them to remove them. Unlike the sloppy reporting dates from ca's a recorded judgment date is indisputable.Have the underlying accounts already come off?

to be honest i don't ever recall the underlying accounts being on my credit report.

    Thanks
