Do you handle a CA that is an affiliate of the CRA any differently?

I have a CA from Retail Alliance that is apparently associated w/ Eq. This CA only appears on Eq, I disputed it and just received my notification that it was verified. It is past the SOL and only for $38.

Eq also has a NCO account on there - haven't touched that one since I have heard how difficult they are.

Eq is quickly becoming my "problem child" 3 Weeks ago I had a 636 Fico, during dispute it went to 631, and with the dispute over with its down to 627....

I wouldn't think so...they are still bound by the FDCPA.

================So does this mean they get to break the law over the other CAs.
Does it also mean that you ought to foreiett your rights to them?

The same laws apply to all CAs .

    NCO is no different .
since I have heard how difficult they are dosen't exempt them from the law!

I had good luck in dealing with NCO. I came out swinging hard right from the start. They tried to validate with an account number that was not on my credit report, so I went back at them with a letter stating they still only had 5 days to verify or cease all activities. They finally came back with the correct info and they went away.
