I currently have a credit score of 635 with no revolving accounts and 6500 owed on a installment acct. with FMC, for my car loan. the score reflects many years of poor repay history as well as a mistake capital one has made. they reported in jan. 2005 that a credit card had been charged off, when in fact it was paid off and closed in august 2002. My Q is how many points did this remove from my score?

There are no set number of points that come off your score, no one can figure it out. However, it being that recent and that it is a CO, means that most likely it was a pretty big hit.
