can someone please post all the scores that the big three credit companys go by? from bad to good credit rating scores.Another question, if a car is repo then is returned to the owner then the owner pays for the car in full. Will it still show on the report as repo? if so can you changed it to a paid in full or will it remain for serveral years? What is the best way to build up your credit with a score of 474? buy a low range car to build credit? buy with a cosigner? or just build on credit cards? Some one mention to buy a car from a subprime company, would that help? thank you in advance!
I know TU goes to 900, I think Experian goes to 840. Not sure about Equifax Co-Signer is always good on a car, if the person's credit is good enough then the lender will put their name first, yours second (Don't worry - you're still getting credit for the car). What this does is the lender will take a look at the first person and accept the loan. If you want to go on your own then you're looking at 21% interest on a subprime - keep it for a year and DO NOT miss any payments during that time. Not sure about the repo situation. Another good thing to do is become a joint cardholder with someone as well (Beware - if they miss payments it will hurt you. Make sure you can trust them). This way you're building up positive accounts as well. With 494 it does need some work - but time can take care of that. If you don't mind me asking, what's the majority of the derogs (Mine were serious lates)... GT
im thinking it was the repo thing. not sure about the lates.i personally have very bad credit. Im asking for my sister. i would not dare get a car at this time.that is the score she told me. she only had two cards in her life and that repo that she paid when she got it back. what is the best card to renbuild credit on? i mean secure wise?
The first thing I did to help rebuild my credit was get a secured card from Capital One. They are a really good company to deal with...after having the card only 6 months they gave me a credit line increase. I make sure to use the card for at least one purchase a month and pay off the balance so as not to incur any interest charges. You can monitor the account online and make payments via ACH online as well which is really nice. This helped me out a lot. And their fees are not outrageous like First Premier.
