I have an account with Discover that was sold to Credigy. The dates of last activity are all different on my CR. I want to get this account removed as I will be buying a new house at the beginning of next year. My SOL is 6 years. I do not have my original statements since I got this card when I was in college and when I moved home they were still being sent to a different state, so I am unsure about the actual date of last activity. W hat I am wondering is if I should request statements from Discover to verify the DOAs and then dispute with the CRA to get removed, but I don't want to wake Credigy up as my SOL has not expired. If I contact Discover would that in anyway wake Credigy up. If Discover can not verify, does that mean Credigy can't either? Would this be the right plan of action or should I do something else? Hi LL, Tell ya what. You probably have some other issues you could be working on, ... yes? I'd suggest you just give this one a rest until June, and attack it then. In the mean time how about tackling some other stuff? : )
