Me and my wife have some Medical bill debt.
I know there is a SOL on Credt cards, and Contracts. But, what about Medical bills?
They have put negative info in my credit file, and I was going to send a letter stating I would pay upon deletion from my credit report.
Willl this reage my acct. some are year or less from falling off of the report.
    So my questions are.
    1. Is there a Medical bill SOL?
    2. If they dont agree to delete upon payment, will this reage my acct on the CRA?
    3. How should I handle the letters to the creditors?
Thank you for your help. And I did search.

SOL should apply equally to any debt other than tax liens. There may be a few other possibilities for deletion. I think the first step would be to send DV to OC or CA if one is involved.

I have searched google and elsewhere. What type of contract is a medical bill considered for the SOL

I'm not sure, but I would hypothsize that it would fit into the same category as an installment loan or credit card.

Interested in helping, and knowing for sure, are two entirely different things.

This may depend on what state you are in. It is probably written contract, assuming you signed an agreement to pay for services. It is probably not a revolving account, such as a credit card. But that is only a guess. Does that distinction make a difference to your SOL, and to whether this debt is past it, in your state?

First check whether it was covered by insurance, whether the provider was in-network, and whether any claim was submitted timely, and paid. check your insurance EOB, to see if you owe anything under their contract. Make sure the other parties, the OC and insurance, have fulfilled their obligations before determining whether you even owe anything.

I live in Kentucky. I have no Insurance. They have put negative information on my credit report . I know where to find out what kentuckys SOL is, but I can not deteremine what a medical bill is considered for the SOL.
    I appreciate any help.

From this site, there appears to be a substantial difference between open account and written contract SOL. If the amounts involved are substantial, see an attorney for clarification.

Have you received an itemized bill from the OC? Are the amounts in collection correct?

No itemized bills yet, so I should contact the hospital if the sol is in fact expired will contacting them reset it?
