I thought I read somewhere that if you set up an automatic payment plan with a CA (to have the money automatically taken from checking) they have to send a letter a few days before the payment is taken from your account???

I can't get to the FTC site right now but there is a clause that if a collector accepts a post dated check they must notify you before deposit.

    However the best advice is:

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER
Give a collection agency your bank account information!

NOPE... and i would never give a CA my checking account number.... we've seen many time where they will try to continue to collect after you've paid or requested they stop.... BAD NEWS....
