    Hi,

I had a telephone account go to collections about in Jun 2007. I paid it that same month.

However, on my credit report the "balance" column (there are 2), gets updated every month with a the current date. Do I need to deal with this ? I had a late payments on my VISA around the same time, and have been current ever since, so these would be the only bad things on my report. My score has not really changed in over a year.

    see below

    High Balance: $161
    Balance: $0

Go ahead and dispute it through the credit reporting agencies. You may get it deleted. You may get them to mark it as being in dispute (if they don't, you have both a FCRA and FDCPA violation).

While Apex makes a good point in your location entry you indicate that you're in Canada. Canadian laws might be dififferent from US laws.
