HELLO, EVERYONE!! I'M A NEWBIE. I HAVE A QUESTION REGARDING A MEDICAL COLLECTIONS ACCOUNT. THERE ARE TWO OF THEM ONE FOR $205.00 AND $273.00. I SENT THEM A LETTER OF VALIDATION AND I GOT BACK SOLID PROOF FROM THERE COMPANY THAT IT IS IN FACT MINE. I DON'T REMEMBER THESE MEDICAL BILLS, BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN COVERED BY INSURANCE FOR AT LEAST THE LAST 5 YEARS. SO I DON'T REMEBER THESE. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW? THE SOL I BELIEVE IS STILL OK.
Get the pertinent data from the hospital listed on the CA's records and ask your insurance agency to please pay them. If the Insurance company pays the original hospital then the CA's have to delete the record. You'll probably run into issues over the lateness of filing but you can usually get the insurance company supervisor to help you out when you explain that you are being hounded by psychotic CA's and your life is now a living hell. Some Insurance companies even have a clause in their agreement with the provider that if they don't submit it promptly, it won't get paid at all. If the original provider agreed to these terms then he's SOL (and I don't mean statute of limitations) and can't assign or sell the debt. Dancer
