when you fax over letter, paperwork or what have you to a company. example: Experian, CA, OC. would your fax report be sufficient as proof that they rec'd the documents. reason why I ask is, I usely send all my letter and such CRRR, but I trying to rush the process a little any advice would really be appreciated. kathy
I don't rely too heavily on faxing my disputes to the credit bureaus. Case in point....I had to fax TU my request for disputes 3 times in one month before they said they received it. In essence it too them 30 days to start my dispute even though I had the fax confimation to prove they did get it. What recourse did I have??? They said they didn't receive it, but I had proof they did. Should I really start a lawsuit over this??? To me it wasn't worth it at this point but I have learned to send every dispute or correspondence to the CRA via ceritified and registered mail to be safe. I feel more confident in using that proof in court with an actual signature by them then relying on my fax confirmation report. It's up to you! Tac
I think it would depend on exactly what type of information you're sending them. If it's a straight dispute, then I would suggest doing it online or telephone. If you're just looking to fax them a copy of a UDF or letter from an OC or CA, then I'd say faxing would be just fine, it has been for me.
Tac, I too feel more confident sending CRRR. I have sent faxs to trans-union concerning disputes and they acknowledged receiving the faxes and strated disputes for me, so I have had no problems with them. I'm just trying to speed some things up, it's like I'm in a really big lag time right now, although most of the issues that I'm working on are regarding CA's and estoppel letters and such, which I will probably send them CRRR, just so I have concrete proof that they rec'd. I just sent over a fax to Experian, regarding procedure request concering a CA, they keep verifying even though I have not rec'd validation back from the CA. They are being real big pains in the (*&*%'s. kathy
