I was wondering if I could assume something here. Here is a little background. My girlfriend applied for a Cap One credit card. She knew what could be on her credit report but we have not pulled them yet to see. So today she gets her denial letter in the mail. Their reasoning was insufficant (spelling) credit history/ insuff. credit information. But everything was filled out correctly on the application online. So can we assume that there is nothing or very little on her credit report? Casper72
With the denial, she is entitled to a free copy of her report. Chances are she doesn't have and hasn't had much credit in the past, or the length of her history isn't very long.
That is why we went ahead and had her apply for the card was so that if she did get denied then we could get her a free credit report. I was talking with her today and got a little more detail on her past credit problems. Her last bf was a waste and so they would rent a apartment and then end up breaking the lease cuz he would blow money on drugs. Well she was not the main applicant but was on the lease so we did not know if it would be on her report or not. She had a car loan and it got repossed but she was the co-signer and there was only like 300 left to pay but the ex had tore it up for the last time and she was not going to pay to get it fixed again. So come monday we will be calling TU and getting her free report.
you can get your TU report FREE online at ANYTIME, just go to their website. Just click the box saying you have been denied credit in the last 60 days.....You will also get your credit score as well. i've pulled mine 6 times this month already and i have applied for 0 CC's - if you get my drift??????
