Hi all. I am new here and have been reading the post for the past few days. I have noticed there is allot of good advice and was wondering about something pretty simple. I contacted a CA that was reporting I owed them $84 for an Apt. rental about 5 years ago. This was damaging because potential renters were declining me based on the fact that I owed money for rental property. When I found out it was $84 I just figured to pay them off and have it resolved. I called them and spoke with the CA and she said if it's paid in full they well delete it of my credit report. My concern is that if I pay them and they don't delete it and just stop reporting it then it still affects me negatively right? And what sort of thing do I need to before I send them the money? Should ask for proof in writing that THEY well be responsible for deleting it from any and all Credit Bureaus? Thanks in advance for a comments.

If you are fine with just paying to get it deleted then make sure you get EVERYTHING from the CA in writing BEFORE you send any money to them. Make sure that it is very clear in your letter that your payment is for full deletion of the tradeline from ALL three CRA. Good luck let us know how it goes.
