Are you asking about a specific company called "Quick Weight Loss Centers" or are you asking a general question about weight loss centers? I started a program at a doctors weight loss center in early January and lost 42 pounds in three months. I have stayed steady since then, but need to lose another 40 pounds.
Since you brought up the topic of weight loss, I would be interested in hearing what others have done successfully. I hit a wall on this and have not gone down in two months. For the record, the doctor put me on phentermine and a low fat, low carb diet. He recently told me that to get over this hump, I need to go on a five a day low carb shakes, with a couple pieces of skinless chicken and some veggies. I started that today. My son and I go exercise every day for an hour or so at the YMCA.
Several years ago, I used a company called National Quick Weight Loss, I don't know if they are the same company. I lost weight, but the program is very hard to stick too, and very expensive. It's a very high protein diet. You couldn't have any salt, sugar etc. You also had to buy these protein supplement shakes in addition to the program fee. I think you would be better off coming up with your own protein diet (you can search on the internet to get meal ideas). You'd save a lot of money and get the same results. Good Luck!
The wife and I are on the zone. Barry Sears ( MD ) did a fantastic job researching food and what effect it has on your body. Most people eat way to many carbs which turn into fat. Too much BS had been written about how eating fat makes you fat. It was the damn Subway low fat subs that made me fat ( all those carbs from the bun ) I went from 298lbs in 98' to 190 in 16 months. I started ( in 2001 ) to work out and do aerobics 4 times a week and I am at 207 now. I sleep only 6 hrs a day VS 10 before I lost weight. Anyone that promises weight loss with no effort on your part is a quack. Run as fast as you can from them. My ex roomate went on the Hollywood diet. It is a "juice" that promises you to loose weight rapidly while not exercising and eating whatever you want. She went into the hospital for dehydration after using that crap. Imagine liquid ex-lax!!
I've lost 45 pounds. Losing the weight is not the most important thing. Keeping it off is. And I've lost it with Weight Watchers and the have kept it off for over three years. Feel great at over 40, 5'7" and 140, size 7/8.
My wife and I have been doing the Atkins diet since January. I have lost 50 lbs and my wife is down about 25. While the Atkins diet is not right for everyone, I highly recommend learning more about a low/reduced carb lifestyle. It has changed our lives!
Touchdown: I have also been using the Atkins diet , supplemented by doctor prescribed diet pills. I lost 40 pounds in three months, starting January 1, but stopped losing weight after that. It has stayed off though. Any ideas on how to get over this hump? I need to lose another 40 pounds. I exercise daily for an hour. The doctor suggested trying the low carb shakes a couple times a day, but that has not helped. The vanilla are ok, but chocolate is bad.
Hi Thomas, The last 10-20lbs are always the hardest. I've been stalled for about a month or two. There is a wealth of information on the Net about the LC diet, and actually on Atkins web site he talks about what to do to break a stall. The DEFINITIVE source on the Web IMO is the alt.support.diet.low-carb Newsgroup. Here are some links you might want to check out. http://www.grossweb.com/asdlc/faq.htm http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&group=alt.support.diet.low-carb Touchdown
