I was bored while I was surfing a few weeks ago, applied for the Quicken MC, got the card today...called to activate it and ran into problems right off the bat. The activation system didn't work properly, the CS # on the back of the card rang busy the first few times I tried, and when I finally talked to a CSR, she asked for my name THREE times, verified nothing, and when I asked about a CLI, I got the standard "6 month..." speech. She was so stupid, I didn't even bother.
I just went to the card's website, and I can't say that I'm impressed. I feel like I just got a card from the toolshed behind Citibank, you know?? I know that this is a seperate division, but what do you guys think? Anyone have any experience w/Citi USA?
My first inkling is to cancel the card and skip town...jk. :) Thanks, guys/gals!

Yeah, that's sorta my first instinct. Citi USA cards can't be combined w/the other cards, right??

Oh, and thank you willgator! :)

    You can COMBINE...

Somebody here said you can lower the limit on one CITI USA card to like $500 and transfer the rest to another card like PLATINUM SELECT...

    Not TOTALLY combinable...

I haven't had any problems with Citi USA, except they are a bit cautious if you use your card out of their perceived "pattern". You get a call. But, Citibanks does that to me on my Dividend card also...

I'd keep the card and call back and talk to another CSR. You may want to report that one to a manager, if you got a name. That is very unlike Citi.

As far as I know, you can still combine. I did a long time ago.

Citi is a good company and has been more than fair with me. They never canceled when I was going through my problems, although they did increase the rate. It was fair. They have since reduced and I've gotten several great BT offers from them. A lot of CL increases, too.

As far as contacting you if you spend out of their perceived pattern, to me that's a plus. A lot of companies do this now. It's to make sure no one has stolen your number. You can call and tell them you're going on vacation and where, and they'll annotate their records.

I have the Hilton Hhonors visa (issued by Citi USA). I get bt offers all the time, but not ones I would consider good offers. But that's ok because I use the card for the points. My credit limit is 27k. You can combine citi USA accounts with other citi USA accounts, but not with citi SD accounts (like platinum select, diamond rewards, etc).

Citi USA issues the quicken card, the hilton card, they used to issue the Netscape card. They also issue the travelocity card. I think there is a heart (or was it lung?) association card and I think one for the humane society. I'm sure there are others.

the citibank usa system is crude. But we got phatty credit lines travelocity card with 0% for 6 months so you can't snuff that.

the online system is ancient but works.

Customer service seems a little less nice than citibank/sd for the call i made. Diff #?

i dunno maybe a bad op

0% for 6 months, then to the sock drawer it goes.

I do not mind paying for my lines. I pay about 350/year for all my credit cards, but those cards have special meaning (like $50K in hidden business lines) that might come in handy when purchasing a house or something.

    George,

I don't think you can combine/transfer limits from Citi USA Cards to Citi cards. They are two completely separate divisions.

I have the Citi USA Signature Hilton Hhonors card:

    1. They always pull a hard inquiry if you want a CL increase.

    2. The account management website is terrible. You can only pay a balance that is listed on the previous closing date. So, you cannot pay off current charges online between cycles.

    3. They don't have very attractive BT offers by any means.

    4. Like keepmine, I use the card for points and because the signature account is an "open" account on my reports.
