What is the best way to get scores to jump in a hurry? The mortgage company will run a credit reprot again and I need to know if putting these old accounts into dispute will artificially bump up the scores? Turn around time? Monday Della
since the lower the utilization ratio of your credit cards the higher the fico score, how about asking your current credit card companies to increase the credit limit? Beware that some of them do a hard inquiry for the increase, while some may do only soft inquiries. Also, if you have $1000 that you can lock up for about an year, try your bank/credit union and take out a secured installment loan with that $1000 as their security deposit. Addition of new trade lines boosts up the score, and sometimes the banks/credit unions don't even do a hard inquiry! Try explaining that you are doing this to boost your credit score that's needed for a mortgage. If the banker is sympathetic, they may not run a credit check. Just my ideas and suggestions. If some one else has better ideas, I like to know them too. -- lakpr
oh, I forgot that the turn around time is Monday .... you can still take my advice, and ask the credit card company (s) and/or bank to update their entry to the bureaus immediately ... explain your story ... Hope you get a sympathetic ear. Best of luck. -- lakpr
Unfortunately, I don't think there is too much you can do about it by Monday ... seeing as how nothing will get done on Sunday and probably not on Saturday either ... if there is a quick fix, *I* certainly have missed out on it! peace, delilah
Quickest way to boost scores NOW But what about putting items into dispute? Online? I once put several items into dispute and the next day, my scores jumped up. Not by much, but that may be all I need. I just want to know if this could be beneficial and my only way out. Della
Quickest way to boost scores NOW TU it won't work...Equifax it may it may not...I put 4 items in dispute on Friday, my score dropped 6 pts...not sure about Experian Good luck
Quickest way to boost scores NOW It will boost equifax only and only if it is your first dispute with them. Most mortgage companies count your middle score so if EQ is your middle score give it a whirl.
