Anyone ever have a real AMEX inquiry (hard) pop up for no reason. I've never seen this before but here there is one. I do have a membership banking but it's listed as Cent bank... so I'm wondering if this is just me or if anyone else has had this issue with them.
Marie, I've had a similar thing happen with one of my accounts when I did a balance transfer. I had the account for several months with a 17000 cl and a 1500 balance. I transfered an additional 1000 to this account and on the same day I put it thru an inquiry showed up on EQ and TU. I wrote a letter to them telling them how it negatively impacted my credit score, etc., etc., and told them I'd hate to think that they were "slamming" my credit file simply because I was using the transfer, especially since, as an account holder, they can always do AR reviews of my files. I asked them to notify the CRA's to remove the hard inquiry. They sent me a letter back agreeing that it should not have been hard inquiries and they would get them removed in 7 to 10 days. I haven't been able to confirm the removal yet but I now have the letter to follow up with. I'm thinking that perhaps this could be what happened to you. Did you make any recent transfers to your AMEX? Mist
that's what is so interesting about this. I don't have an amex account. I did open a membership banking account about then but the other inquiries on the other report show that it's membership banking and not amex. Odd. Guess I'll be calling amex again. It actually concerns me because of identity fraud and all. I can get new accounts now so I worry and watch my reports religiously.
