can you dispute and remove incorrect name spellings, incorrect social security numbers, incorrect addresses, incorrect employers, etc with the CRA's? gheez..I have about 50 variations of my name on each of my reports. its like pre-k children must enter the data manually for these CA's one of my addresses is listed as NAC6-EL and the city is GV ? social security number is listed 5 times, 5 different ways, with one or two numbers transversed on each one. my work history shows the same company 7 times, each time spelled differently so as to look like I've switched jobs 7 times! arg.
Yep. I just called up and disputed on the phone and they deleted everything but 1 name and one SSN. Sometimes they may get "picky". For example, if I go by John J Jones and John Joseph Jones IS my name, they may say you are both. On the other hand, I am not Jack J Jones! I hope I'm clear here. Dispute what you can, but don't stress if you don't get it all. Just call back another time or day. You will most likely get another rep and get what you want. I play, naive, stupid, dumb, concerned, nice, etc. Whatever it takes to get them to "relate" to you. After you are done, keep an eye on your reports because the names and addresses will come back. Anytime a CA or OC or whoever reports, any variation of your name they have seems to show up. You have to be vigilant. REMEMBER: Most CRA to CA/OC verification is done by Name, Address and SSN or some combination thereof.
