-If it was, then I should be obsolete this year. BUT 180 days from 3/97 it looks like.

-IF THEN it is not deleted, DISPUTE the status of the account as being obsolete.

-If they dont delete it then, you may have an action under FCRA 623 (b)

As In "WAS" as in I was trying to confirm that IN FACT IT WAS 97 and not an assumption. THIS IS KINDA IMPORTANT.

And the reporting period is 7 years from the original date of delinquency GENERALLY.

I usually ADD -"give or take a few months" to allow for "reasonable" time.

Here is what the FCRA say :


"(c) Running of reporting period.

(1) In general. The 7-year period referred to in paragraphs (4) and (6)(2) of subsection (a) shall begin, with respect to any delinquent account that is placed for collection (internally or by referral to a third party, whichever is earlier), charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action, upon the expiration of the 180-day period beginning on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which immediately preceded the collection activity, charge to profit and loss, or similar action."

-The 180 days I referred to is to allow reasonable time to delete an obsolete entry. IF the consumer reporting agency hasnt deleted it BY THEN, what excuse could they use ?
