Thanks to Ibrown in an earlier post, I am questioning "ACCOUNT RE-AGING". PLEASE, I NEED YOUR INPUT!! Chevron-COLLECTION ACCOUNT: I have disputed this account as "NOT MINE" and "DATE OF FIRST DELINQUENCY". Both times, "VERIFIED". Take a look at dates. Then see notes at bottom. JUNE, 2001 - First copy of credit report. ACCT REPORTED: DATE OPENED: 10/83 CREDIT LIMIT/ORIGINAL AMOUNT: NA REPORTED SINCE: 6/2000 DATE OF STATUS: 6/2000 LAST REPORTED: 6/2001 STATUS: COLLECTION ACCOUNT. $540 PAST DUE AS OF 6-2001 ACCOUNT HISTORY: COLLECTION AS OF 6-2001, 4-2001, 6-2000 TO 3-2001 ***ON EXPERIAN REPORTS, THEY PUT HOW LONG YOUR ACCOUNTS ARE SCHEDULED TO CONTINUE ON RECORD. SO, UNDER "STATUS DETAILS" IT SAYS, THIS ACCOUNT IS SCHEDULED TO CONTINUE ON RECORD UNTIL 1-2003. At first glance at the above account, I was baffled. That collection was so new. I knew that we hadn't had credit problems this recent! (STAY WITH ME HERE, THERE'S MORE) **JANUARY 2002 REPORT** ALL THE SAME AS ABOVE EXCEPT FOR: 1/2002 - STATUS: COLLECTION ACCOUNT. $540 PAST DUE AS OF 1-2002. ACCOUNT HISTORY: COLLECTION AS OF 1-2002, 12-2001, 11-2001, 9-2001, 6-2001 TO 8-2001, 4-2001, 6-2001 TO 3-2001 **FEBRUARY 2002 REPORT** 2/2002 - STATUS: COLLECTION ACCOUNT. $540 PAST DUE AS OF 2-2002 ACCOUNT HISTORY: COLLECTION AS OF 1-2002, (THE REST IS THE SAME AS ABOVE). *******I just called Chevron to find out some info. and found out that this account went into Collection/Charge Off Status on 1/03/1996! Not only that, but I asked when the date of first delinquency before it went into collection was and they told me that it's still considered ACTIVE and CURRENT before it gets to the Collection department and so they are using the 1/03/1996 as the AGING date (at least in their computer). Even though the accounts are up to 150 days late BEFORE they even go into the COLLECTION department. I told them that they can't do that! They have to use the date of FIRST deliquency that LED TO the CHARGE-OFF or COLLECTION. Not only that, but there isn't a date even CLOSE to 1/1996 on this report! ISN'T THIS JUST "NIFTY"?!! ***PLEASE. . . How many VIOLATIONS do you see here? ANY? PLEASE HELP! Thank you! Thank you!
