Hey: How much will my BK expiring make on my credit report? How much should my FICO go up? My fico right now is 627 from EQ I have received stuff in the mail from AmEX for "invitations" to apply. I am trying to pay off and consolidate my cc debt onto one or two cards. But what is the requirements for say, AmEX and BOFA? I have a cap1 account with a 3500 limit. They have been very helpful w/me since my BK in 1993. Any input would be appreciated...Trying to plan my strategy for after the BK comes off (it is supposed to come off in 7-03, but trying to get earlier) Thanks, ICU
Removing the BK from your credit reports will not raise your score substancially, but it will remove the barrier preventing you from getting MBNA, AMEX, and BofA.
WOOOHOOOO!!! I've been wearing my albatross since Oct of 94. Can't wait til next year when that bastard comes off!!!!!!! Awesome!
Congratulations on the 10 years almost being gone! When mine fell off just this last month, my score went up 28 points. From a 621 to a 649. Let us know how your score is affected! Congratulations again. Charles
Bill Bauer says that although they cannot report it after 10 years, it will always be on your public record? What does he mean by this?
Court records will always reflect this info to anyone who takes the time to call them. Most people will never need this info...especially one it drops off your reports.
Hey All: OK..have a question. My TU report shows BK gone. I applied for a BOA Visa (who pulled TU). They declined it due to Bankruptcy!!!! To be on the safe side, I pulled my report from TU, still no BK...WTF????? I just got off of the phone w/ BOA..They will do a second review. My take??? They will probably try to find something else to decline me......HMMMM Is the BK still on reports to the creditors but not the credit report "owners"???? Even after 10 years??? I thought I was done with the whole bk THING after 10 years!! ICU
Sounds fishy. Have you applied with bofa in the last 30 days? Sometimes, they will just pull the one they have on file (home depot does this). They keep the reports for 30 days, then purge them. I'm interested to know why they did that...have my bk coming off next year. I would call bofa and find out where they got the information since i isn;t on your file. Tell them you are looking at a more recent copy (even if it is dated the same day). They have to tell you the source of the info. If the source of the info is in fact your tu report, I would talk with tu (hopefully they won't re-insert it) and find out why a creditor is receiving different info on your tu than you are being shown.
