    Where I stand....

    07/99 Cap1 secured visa $350
    08/00 Cap1 unsecured visa $500
    08/00 NextCard unsecured visa $500
    All in perfect standing...
    4 inquiries in the last 6 months
    1 delinquent account (4 yrs ago/paid) due to fall off from my Cr(s) 11/01

    *****************************

    I realized that I need another credit card other than visa with a higher limit if I ever want to made my way to the prime land. I am determine to get MC, Discover and eventually an Amex).

    Today I received an invitation offer for a gold card from Discover (pre-selected)

    * 0% intro apr on purchases (offer good for 6 months)after 14.99% fixed apr
    * 5.9% intro apr on balance transfers (offer good for 6 months)
    * no annual fee
    * earn $500 (based on level of purchase per/yr)
    * 25 day grace period
    * $0.50 minimun finance charge

    Do I have a chance to obtain this card? should I wait for the inquiries to fall off and my 1st visa to be 2yrs old?

    Any advice will be greatly appreciated !

    I would personally wait myself, my husband gets that preselected offer from discover every other month, he applied once and got denied yet he still receives this constantly. His credit Aria Platinum 5k since July of 99, sear since Dec of 99 and lowes March 00, 1 inquiry last six months and one collection from 95. of course this is my my opinion

    Keep up the good work, but personally I think that any delinquency, plus very low limits on recent new accounts, would kill your Discover chances for a while. It appears that waiting until 7/01, or 11/01, or perhaps even 8/02, would be necessary (but not sufficient) for approval.
