    A) Is it true that in south carolina, wage garnishments and bank account seizures are not permitted?

    B) What is the best state for someone who is trying to avoid paying, to live in? And why?
(Note: i am not nessesarily trying to avoid paying)

Forget about morals for a second.

    A) Let's say, hypothetically, that a person wishes to escape paying on a debt(s). Which state would be the best one to live in if one wanted to achieve this objective?

1)Which states do not allow wage garnishments?

2)Which states do not allow bank accounts to be attached/seized?

    3) Home protection?

That could depend on your tax filing status.

I was in SC, but didn't need to pay attention to that law, so I can't answer that there....
However, In researching FL to help a friend, I found that in FL, as Head of Household, any collector/OC would not succeed in touching me. In FL, you cannot garnish wages nor touch the house... up to a limit, excepting HOH - where there is no limit.

I had a cell company overcharge me and when I wouldn't pay the overages, they closed my acct and sent it to collections. It has already been at 4 CAs so far. I simply tell them that I dispute the debt and that in FL they cannot touch me because I am HOH. They don't call again and it is usually 60 days before the next CA attempts it!

This has been going on for 1.5 years already. I figure that I could keep it up until SOL.

BTW, I DID pay the genuine charges, I just refuse to pay the stuff that *I* didn't generate!
