Have a question. Equifax has finally removed my last neg which is RMA file from my report. I have asked them to remove the three inquiries showing REA-Risk Management that are from this year from my files as well. "They said the inquiries are soft and will not hurt my scores." They show as "REA-Risk Management" I thought that it would have to show as an "AU" or "Review" or anything that to be a soft. How can I tell if it is hard or soft inquiry? Can someone tell me what the deal is?
Each bureau does it differently. Equifax is annoying because they mix all the inquires together a sort by date. Here is what I can contribute. "These are also known as soft inquires: PRM (promotional) AM or AR (review of existing credit account) EQUIFAX, ACIS AND UPDATE (you are ether asking for a copy of you credit report or a investigation of an item)"

yes,, REA RMA is a soft,, this insane game exists, where everytime I pull my report and score on credit watch, WHAM, immediately comes REA RMA, its automated,, I have over 60 pulls from them this yr,, but when I see inquiry section on the FICO score page,, its not in the hardies,, the joke is the tradeline from RMA due to fall off 3/2003,, hasnt been updated since since 1/99, with in bold words, CANT FIND CONSUMER;, good defense if a chance they ever try to do anything, saying SOL tolled cause they couldnt "find" me,,,,, but they pull my report everyday,, anyway,,,,, this crap will end when the tradeline fall soff,, they used to have an acct with sears,,, when it fell off in 10/2001,,, the REA RMA stopped for this, but conts, with the acct due to off 3/2003,, so I wouldnt worry about it,,, its a softie,,
IMLOST I was sneaky, I first called the CA to see if I could pay and delete they said no then yes. I wasn't comfortable with not getting it in writing so I went to the OC and they agreed to delete if I paid. I received a letter from the OC stating to delete. I then sent it to RMA stating that this needs to be deleted. They refused and so did the CRA, however I still had this letter. I waited about three weeks and took another stab at it with someone new just kinda whining that it was only for $50- and I am buying a house etc and the OC said it was okay etc. Some how the rep said well this was paid per the OC and we sent the account back to them so we can not verify. I had two options either do another dispute (which I already had one in progress) so when they did not verify it would fall off or revert back to the OC letter that I already had stating to delete. When I spoke to the rep at RMA he stated they had already sent info the the CRA to delete account as they nolonger held the account. That is how it went down. It was quite a bloody battle you can search my strings to get play by play. I think I got lucky!
