I hope you are able to help me with a problem I've encountered with Bank of America. The problem concerns the financing at your bank. . On July 28, 2003 I applied for a BofA visa platinum and was denied online. I would like a manual review of my application be done, as I believe I should have qualified for this card. I have an installment loan through BofA, and also checking and savings accounts. I have good credit history, never a late payment, no derogs and think that the reasons given do not justify my denial. I have done a lot of research and found that your card with a 9.9 fixed rate would be the best for me as I will be going to grauate school soon and may need to carry fairly large balances. The reasons given online are #of revolvoving accounts with balances, this does not hold up because I am only carrying a balance on 2 cards: chase platinum 186.32, and my best buy card of 1151.28. Also, the chase card is the only "new" account that I am carrying a balnce on as the best buy card is 2 years old, and all of my other credit cards are paid off at the end of every month. The average age of my accounts is low because I am only 21, I haven't had that much time to have credit cards yet. Now to the final denial reason, too many inquiries in the last 5 months, I have these inquiries because I was shopping for a loan for my truck and decided to go with a loan from BofA. Also, the intial denial reason was because I incorrectly inputted my gross household annual income, it is 162,500.(just based on that my mom may quit her job soon) In the future I might just take my business to other banks, and I don't know whether I can recommend you to others. Here's the resolution I propose: I would like to ask that my application be manually reviewed and your decision to deny me a BofA platinum visa be overturned. I appreciate very much you looking into this and hopefully will be able to approve my application. I am asking that you please give me a chance despite your online denial because I am a very responsible customer and have never been late or had any derogs on my credit in the 3 years I have had credit. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. I look forward to your prompt reply.
I just put that on here, it is not on the actual PFB letter, anything else you think I should add or delete GEORGE?
Just my .02 cents You spelled graduate wrong (if you copied and pasted) I actually had a good laugh on that ! I wouldn't mention you are about to carry a fairly large balance, and also I wouldn't mention your age the two together look really really bad. (How many of us said they screwed up in their younger years?) I don't understand the input about hhld income and your Mom quitting her job??? I wouldn't give specifics on the revolving balances. Tell them it doesn't make sense as you only allow two cards to revolve, and one the balance is less than $200. I might explain that x of x inquiries are during one shopping trip for an auto. "In the future" - I personally hate those canned sentences at PFB - I always take them out. I would cut out everything in the last paragraph starting with " I am asking that you please..." Again, this is what I would do, others with B of A PFB experience might have better suggestions.
How about this one? I hope you are able to help me with a problem I've encountered with Bank of America. The problem concerns the financing at your bank. . The average age of my accounts is low because I only have 3 yers of credit history but if you will look i have 3 years of perfect payment history on all cards. Now to the final denial reason, too many inquiries in the last 5 months, I have these inquiries because I was shopping for a loan for my truck, which 2 of the 3 inquiries are from, and decided to go with a loan from BofA. Also, the intial denial reason was because I incorrectly inputted my gross household annual income, after a call to 1-302-741-1825 it should have been corrected to $162,500. Here's the resolution I propose: I would like to ask that my application be manually reviewed and your decision to deny me a BofA platinum visa be overturned. Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> Much better! The last two things I would fix delete - do not justify denial. Sounds a little offensive (how does HE know what justifies denial??) "never a late payment, nor any derogatory entries." delete - does not hold up - same reason "with balances. I am only carrying..."
Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> now they won't jack the rates on my loan because I am sending this right? This is not gonna get me into trouble?
They shouldn't be able to jack your rate on a closed-end installment account. I've never heard of it. Your loan papers agreed to a specific rate.
FIXED RATE...it could only change if it was VARIABLE and tied to PRIME...and PRIME WOULD HAVE TO GO UP!!!
yup, just asked my mom, it's fixed. How do you get contacted when you do a PFB, do they call or send you an email or snail mail or any of the above?
Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> BofA phone call from some lady...HER NAME HAS BEEN MENTIONED BEFORE...
Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> should I have left my PFB letter public, I chose to send it private, and now after doing a search have found that almost all of the people that did public got cards and people who did private did not have so much luck. Anything I can do now? Any numbers for BofA I should try?
Re: Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> Depends on if you want the smart-@$$ commentary from the peanut gallery there.
Re: Re: Re: read my PFB letter before I send-> nah, that's okay I just wondered if it was as effective if it was not public? Also, I have heard that this great, wonderful Robin is no longer with BofA or something in a different thread...does anyone know if this is true? I think she may be my only hope.
